Black History Month

February was originally coined Black History Month in the 1920s as a way to celebrate Black culture and identity and ensure that school children are exposed to Black history. Today, Black History Month still serves as a means of transforming our current understanding of American history while illuminating the true experience of Black individuals and communities in the United States.

At Media Cause, we are addressing the gaps in representation in our society and more specifically, our industry, while also celebrating the identity and diversity of Black families everywhere.
The celebration of Black history and Black lives does not end in February. Several team members have shared resources to follow to stay involved and continue learning:
