Going back to school is already difficult – the application process shouldn’t be. Our goal was to rethink the application process for future students at Year Up. Our challenged was to completely restructure each step, wireframe and iterate, conduct user testing, and create a better user experience while revamping the Year Up brand.
First we interviewed key stakeholders at Year Up within the recruitment, student support, and HR departments. After establishing our first wireframes we conducted user tests with newly-enrolled students that had previously gone through the old application process. Through several iterations and edits we defined the best user experience, fully designed 10 key template pages which including mobile views, and created an extensive web development specs doc for the Year Up's team to build the portal internally.
