Google AdWords App: 5 Things We Love
Stuck at the airport? Sitting in a coffee shop? Forgot to charge your laptop? No problem. With the AdWords app for iOS, you can easily access your campaigns and make changes. And if you’re always on the go like me, using this app is a must.
With the AdWords app you can:
- View campaign stats
- Update bids and budgets
- Get real-time alerts and notifications
- Call a google expert
- Act on suggestions to improve your campaigns
Our team was very excited when Google released the AdWords app for iOS back in January. It has an amazingly smooth UI and a faster loading time compared to the desktop version. If you’ve been wondering how the mobile app compares to the desktop version, look no further. We have done the homework for you!
Let’s focus on 5 key areas of the AdWords mobile app: monitoring, optimizing, notifications, opportunities, and support.
Monitoring Your AdWords Campaigns
The page load time is incredibly fast, which makes it easy to switch between campaigns. It also provides performance metrics at the keyword level. KPIs are highlighted on the Home screen. There is an overview of supporting metrics such as Device, Network and Click Type.
Optimizing Performance
The AdWords App allows bid and budget edits. Campaigns, ad groups and keywords can be paused or activated. However, you cannot create new campaigns, ads groups, or ads. And you won’t be able to edit existing ads.
Reviewing Notifications
Similar to the desktop version, the bell icon will appear at the top right hand side of the screen when you have notification alerts, so it is very easy to access and view messages. But you will have to sign in to desktop AdWords to view the details.
Checking Opportunities
The AdWords app has a separate tab for Opportunities, but you will not be able to view a comprehensive list on your phone. Unfortunately, some opportunities are only viewable in the desktop version.
Reaching the AdWords Support Team
You can view popular questions and answers from the help menu tab, and you can email the support team directly from the app. This is one of the features that we found most helpful.
Next steps: Download the AdWords App
The AdWords app is great for monitoring existing campaigns on your iPhone, so we recommend downloading it today. We sure hope additional features will be developed in the near future, but it is definitely a great tool for ‘on-the-go’ optimizing. And, no sweat, the AdWords App is also available for Android.
